Q. How long does it take for UV Mate to kill microorganisms?

The following table gives the amount of dosage required to achieve 90% disinfection for
most species of flu viruses, including Coronavirus.

As above, the UV-C dose required to inactivate a specific organism depends on the type of
the microorganism that is being targeted, the applied UV-C intensity and the time of
exposure to UV-C. UVDI has an extensive database of dose values required to inactivate
various bacteria, viruses and molds. With UV mate we estimate 99.99 %killing in less than 3
minutes. However, considering various shapes of objects being exposed, we recommend a
treatment time of 10 minutes to achieve optimal disinfection.
